Purpose: This image was created to symbolize a pristine woman representing Britain, and her "daughter" for America.
Summary: This piece of art symbolizes the strained relationship between Britain and America. Britain is the mother and America is the daughter. it also plays in to racist effects of Native American culture during that time.
American Identity: I think what it means to be an American has changed overtime in that the American dream has faded and in its place has come a huge entitlement factor that Americans feel.
